Our F-16 flight simulators are similar to the mission rehearsal trainers currently manufactured by Lockheed Martin, BAE and L3 in use by our armed forces. These simulators represent the highest fidelity training system for the F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft.

Older Block 40 aircraft without the CPD configuration include the newer Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator (EHSI), instead of the older analog HSI.

Safety Standards

F-16 Flight Simulator Main Instrument Panel

Our simulators incorporate design features that protect the health and provide for the safety of those personnel who will be employed in the handling, servicing, maintenance and operations of the equipment. The safety requirements are derived from quantitative analyses to identify and eliminate all hazards and hazardous events to an acceptable level of risk. 

Our systems will not expose operating and maintenance personnel to any toxic and corrosive substances, electrical hazards, extremes in temperature and hazardous radiation during the use of the systems.

Cockpit Overview

F-16 Block 42 Flight Simulator

Our F-16 Flight Simulators are realistic replicas of the F-16 aircraft. The main instrument panel left/right AUX and left/right side consoles are actual aircraft castings. The cockpit structures are mounted on a support frame dimensioned for proper eye-point with the visual system’s requirements. The sub-frames have provisions for multiple 4U 19” rack mount computers in order to maintain a self-contained cockpit assembly. 

Canopy Requirements

We have units with and without simulated canopy systems. All the simulators have the canopy jettison handle located on the left side console, and most have the manual canopy crank handles, regardless if they have the canopy installed or not.

Simulated ACES II Ejection Seat

ACES II Ejection Seat

All of our F-16 flight simulators include high fidelity simulated ACES II ejection seats. The seats are equipped with a seat height actuator and one (1) tactile transducer or “seat shaker” to simulate the environmental sensations experienced during normal and emergency procedures. Provisions for aircrew kit connections are also found in the cockpit.

Interface Electronics

F-16 Block 52+ I/O System

The cockpit panels, instruments and displays found inside our F-16 flight simulators are driven using a combination of propriatary Universal Serial Bus (USB), RJ-45 and RS-232 in an effort to keep internal cabling to a minimum. The exact I/O method and protocol are disclosed via an Interface Control Document (ICD) at time of sale. 

Simulated Cockpit Electronics

Our cockpits are furnished with simulated equipment that physically replicates the associated aircraft systems in appearance, mechanical action and tactile feel as apparent to the pilot. These systems include:

  • Limited Displacement Side stick controller
  • Throttle assembly with friction adjustment
  • Adjustable rudder pedal assembly

Our cockpits include a simulated Heads Up Display (HUD) combiner glass and frame that physically replicates the aircraft HUD. The HUD, HUD Control Panel and Integrated Control Panel (ICP) are operational and interface with the aircraft avionics. Internal surround sound speakers are included to simulated aircraft and environmental sounds.
